• Angel Mission receives grant (mininggazette.com) — Copper Country Angel Mission’s Calumet facility is getting a $20,000 boost to renovate its unfinished second floor at 344 Fifth Street, creating offices, storage, and free meeting space for other nonprofits. The upgrades will help volunteers better manage donations, improve working conditions, and expand services like food, clothing, and emergency aid for families across the Copper Country. 
• Traffic Alert: Houghton County crash closes both lanes of US-41 (uppermichiganssource.com) — US-41 is closed in both directions between Store Street and Sutinen Road after a crash involving at least two motorcycles and a passenger vehicle, affecting drivers around Calumet. Traffic is being rerouted through Lake Linden while Mercy EMS, Calumet Township Fire and Rescue, state police, and the county sheriff respond.
• 2027 UP Sports Hall of Fame class announced (yourdailyglobe.com) — Calumet sports fans can celebrate longtime football and track coach John Croze, who’s been selected for the 2027 U.P. Sports Hall of Fame after leading Copper Kings teams to 22 playoff berths and multiple West-PAC and U.P. titles. He joins nine other Upper Peninsula standouts from schools like Kingsford, Houghton, Hancock, and Marquette, with induction set for May 8 at Island Resort and Casino in Harris.
