• 64th Thumb Meet of Champs on the horizon (sanilaccountynews.com) — Caro High School will host the 64th Thumb Meet of Champions on May 26, bringing top track and field athletes from 29 area schools into town. Events begin with girls pole vault at 2:30 p.m., with field events at 4 p.m. and running events after a 6 p.m. Parade of Athletes and honoree recognition.

• Cass City school proposal passes by just 2 votes after recount (abc12.com) — Election officials meeting in Caro have certified a $10 million Cass City school bond that ultimately passed by just two votes after eight misplaced absentee ballots were legally added to the tally. The Tuscola County Board of Canvassers verified each ballot with state guidance before reversing the initial result and also finalized Mayville Community Schools’ election outcome.
