• Longtime Center Line employee to take over as city manager (candgnews.com) — Center Line residents will soon see a familiar face leading City Hall, as longtime employee and resident Janice Pockrandt has been unanimously approved to become the next city manager in November. After 15 years in various roles, she plans to focus on economic development, filling vacant properties, and supporting existing businesses while also overseeing elections through a new deputy clerk. 
• Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit relocates to Madison Heights (candgnews.com) — Families in Center Line may soon find it easier to get essential furniture, as the Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit has moved into a much larger facility in nearby Madison Heights. The nonprofit now has more space to collect and distribute donated beds, tables, chairs, and household items to low-income families across the tri-county area, and is actively seeking both furniture and monetary donations, as well as volunteers.
