Fast-Food Fight Lands Michigan Man In Jail

Police: A Burger King employee refused to give customer free food, and received serious face injuries as a result.

A southeast Michigan fast-food worker was beat up Thursday when he refused to give a customer free food, according to police reports.

Pittsfield Township Police Deputy Gordy Schick said the worker was on break from his job at a local Burger King when the customer began arguing with him about free food and threatening a female employee, The Ann Arbor News/MLive.com reports.

The customer, an 18-year-old Pittsfield Township man, reportedly wanted to take the argument outside. The Burger King employee, a 30-year-old Ypsilanti Township man, attempted to stop the suspect, who suddenly turned, punched the worker in the face and then kicked him while he was on the ground, police said.

The worker sustained serious face injuries in the fracas, and was taken to the hospital, police said.

The suspect fled, but was quickly apprehended by Pittsfield police officers. He is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail and could face aggravated assault charges.
