Person of Interest ID'd In Fatal Home Invasion

Two killed, three injured in home invasion, but area residents don't need to fear for safety, Michigan State Police say.

Michigan State Police said Sunday they’ve identified a person of interest in a Washtenaw County home invasion that left two people dead and three injured.

All five people were stabbed in Saturday’s home invasion in York Township, but residents don’t need to be concerned for their safety, Michigan State Police Sgt. Mark Thompson told MLive.com.

Two of the survivors had serious wounds, in the attack.

Police haven’t identified those killed, but family members said they were half brothers Timber Brown, 12, and John Brown, 26, MLive said. Timber Brown’s mother, Vicki Moore, was reportedly stabbed 14 times and was in critical but stable condition Sunday, and the homeowner, Jeffrey James Porter, 39, also received serious injuries.

A GoFundMe page has been established to raise money for the family. Sharon Hush, who established the page, said the Moore/Brown family find themselves in a situation that “feels very much like a nightmare we wish to awaken from.”

“We also ask that prayers be said for the family and friends mourning the sweet boy we lost so (tragically) and the healing of Vicki in mind, body, and soul as she fights to come back to her precious daughter, loving family, and friends,” Hush wrote.

By Sunday night, $1,970 had been raised to assist the family.
