Clawson and Troy Athens High School Students Make Bears for Children

Clawson High School and Troy Athens High School students gathered Sunday, Dec. 11, to make over 55 Build-a-Bears at the store’s Somerset location. The students will donate the bears to Beaumont Children's Hospital, which will distribute them to patients this holiday season.

Shelby DuFresne, a freshman at Clawson High School, spearheaded the project, which was supported by the Children's Miracle Network of the Beaumont Foundation. She and her friends held a yard sale in the summer, and also solicited personal donations to raise money. The Athens Project Lead service club raised money through pizza sales after being invited to participate in the project.
