Rain Forces More Cancellations for Clawson Sports; Golf Team Competes in Pontiac
A roundup of cancelled and rescheduled games for Clawson spring sports, plus golf results.

April 29—It was supposed to be an action packed week for spring sports teams. The weather didn’t get the memo.
Almost the entire Trojans schedule from Monday to Thursday was wiped out for a second consecutive week. Heavy rains on Monday, a tornado watch on Tuesday and more rain in the middle of the week forced another round of postponements and cancellations.
The weather this spring has already forced a ton of schedule changes and with the limited amount of off-days to play with, many of the games this week were cancelled instead of being postponed.

The Oakland County Division II tournament at Pontiac Municipal was on Monday and the Trojans varsity golfers were one of 23 teams to compete. The huge tournament kicked off in the morning with teams golfing 18 holes at the par 70 course.
Five golfers competed for each school, but only the top four scores counted toward the team’s final results. Stoney Creek won with a 294, Oxford came in second (301) and Avondale was third (303).
Clawson’s total score was a 354 and that was good for 16th place. Steve O’Connell golfed a great round for the Trojans and shot a nine-over par (79). He finished in the top 25 (24th place). Alex Linsenmeyer golfed an 89 (66th place), Parker Aikin shot a 91 (72nd) and Brad Lambert had a 95 (85th).
Lucas Nesbitt also golfed for the Trojans and shot 107 (98th place), but his score wasn’t part of the final total.
The golf team had two other meets scheduled, but they were both cancelled.
