Is Thrillist's Best Burger in Michigan Really the Best?
There were serious contenders in Dearborn and Royal Oak, but you'll have to drive a bit to find Thrillist's best burger in Michigan.

You probably have your own ideas about the best burger in Michigan – more about that in a bit – but Thrillist has weighed with its list of the best burgers in every state.
In Michigan, honors went to burger icon Krazy Jim’s Blimpy Burger in Ann Arbor, which has been stacking “lots of things” on its hand-ground patties since 1953, said Thrillist, a digital media company focused on food, drink and travel.

Thrillist claims some authority on the matter, and said its list “was not just a list compiled from other lists which were compiled from other lists until you’ve reached the end of the Internet.”
“If we didn’t eat it personally, one of our other national food/drink editors or city editors or contributing writers did.”

The editors noted that with burger mainstays like Falls Sports Lounge and Miller’s Bar, both in Dearborn, and Red Coat Tavern in Royal Oak, Michigan does not lack for quality burgers.
But the best of all of them is found at Blimpy’s, where there are – take a deep breath if you plan to rattle off all these numbers – 2,147,483,648 ordering combinations.
“Get a triple (at least), know that onion rings are a must, and mind the ordering etiquette,” the editors said.
Blimpy’s almost went out of business when the University of Michigan acquired its building and planned to demolish it for graduate housing. A fundraising campaign saved the iconic restaurant, which is now operating at 304 S. Ashley.
So, is Thrillist right or wrong?
