Boyfriend Charged in Mount Clemens Woman's Murder

"These physical injuries are shocking even to veteran law enforcement officers," Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — The boyfriend and roommate of a woman who was taken off life support after she was found naked and near death on her lawn last month has been charged in her murder, Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said.

Michael Rosenmund, 39, of Mount Clemens, was arraigned Monday in Clinton Township’s 41-B District Court on charges of reckless driving causing death and manslaughter with a motor vehicle in the death of 27-year-old Julie Williamson. He is being held in jail in lieu of $300,000 bond and is prohibited from contacting Williamson’s family if he is released.

Authorities allege that Williamson died in a July 10 domestic dispute that escalated to murder. Her family removed her from life support on July 17.

In a news release, Smith said investigators determined that Williamson’s extensive physical injuries indicated she had been struck or dragged by Rosenmund’s pickup. Her body was scraped up, indicating she had been dragged along the pavement, according to the news release.

“These physical injuries are shocking even to veteran law enforcement officers,” Smith said in the news release. “Rosenmund will be held accountable for this brutality.”

Williamson, the mother of two children ages 9 and 2, was left naked and covered with a blanket on the front lawn of her Mount Clemens residence on the 100 block of Dickinson
after the attack. She suffered numerous injuries, including broken ribs and other bones, and also suffered several strokes while she was hospitalized at McLaren Hospital.

Rosenmund had reportedly picked Williamson up from a bachelorette party on July 10 before the argument began. He called 911 about 4:30 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham had said.
