Clinton Township Man Shot 5 Times ID’s Alleged Assailant

Defendant's attorney requested hearing to challenge identification by Erwin Johnson, who survived five gunshot wounds.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Clinton Township man who was shot five times outside his residence in January identified his alleged assailant in court Tuesday as a man he had approached to collect on a $20 debt to buy liquor.

The victim, Erwin Johnson, was testifying in a hearing in Macomb County Circuit Court requested by the attorney for Alfie “Reese” Parker, 33, who is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and two weapons offenses.

Parker’s attorney, Ken Vernier, had challenged Johnson’s identification of his client. Johnson admitted he was “very drunk” when he was shot, but said in court, “Everybody knows who shot me.”
