Sheriff and Police Chief Update Trustees on Dispatch System
911 texting and other enhancements help get help to callers more quickly: report.

(Originally published on Dec. 7, 2016) CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — In 2013, Clinton and Township and the Macomb County sheriff's office began collaborating on dispatch services. At the November Board of Trustees meeting, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham and Clinton Township Police Chief Fred Posavetz updated the trustees on the progress of the dispatch consolidation project. The contract is due to expire in 2018, the Fraser-Clinton Township Chronicle is reporting.
“It’s been a work in progress and getting to the point of where everything is coming together,” Wickersham said.
Next on the agenda is to connect the Clinton Township Fire Department to the system. So far, Harrison Township, Washington Township and Mount Clemens are already receiving central dispatch services.
