ā¢ House advances Rep. Meerman's bipartisan plan to help improve outcomes for foster children (gophouse.org) ā State Rep. Luke Meerman of Coopersville has advanced a bipartisan plan in the Michigan House to make it easier for relatives and close family friends to receive financial support when caring for children outside the traditional foster system. The bill broadens who counts as a ārelativeā and loosens assistance rules, aiming to keep kids with trusted adults and reduce entries into foster care statewide.
