2 Dearborn Children Injured After Driver Hits Them, Then Flees: Cops

The two children were hit while playing in the area of Telegraph and Ross Street on Dearborn's west side, police said.

DEARBORN, MI — Two young girls are recovering after they were struck by a vehicle in Dearborn on Sunday afternoon, Dearborn Police said.

The two children were hit while playing in the area of Telegraph and Ross Street on Dearborn's west side, police said. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are expected to make full recovery.

The driver never stopped and took off after striking the two young girls, police said.

Police have not yet released a description of the vehicle or the driver.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident was asked to call Dearborn Police at 313-943-2240.

The hit-and-run accident comes seven months after a young girl was struck and killed by a speeding driver on the 7600 block of Bingham in Dearborn.

In March, Dearborn Police launched a new Traffic Safety Unit program, which aims to focus on speeders, reckless drivers and other driving violations that directly endanger public health and safety.
