4 Arrested in Armed Carjacking at Dearborn McDonald's
Suspects allegedly pulled a gun on the victim and demanded her car and were arrested later in Detroit.

Four people have been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred Oct. 12 at a McDonald’s restaurant drive-through lane at 7300 Wyoming in Dearborn.

The victim told police she was pulling through the lane about 3 a.m. in her 2006 Ford Fusion when three men, who were hiding nearby, approached the driver side of her vehicle, produced a gun, ordered her from her car and then fled in it, according to a news release.

Working with the Detroit Police Department’s Commercial Auto Theft Section, Dearborn officers took four suspects into custody, three adults and one juvenile, after a brief foot pursuit. During the arrest officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the crime, the victim’s vehicle, along with additional evidence linking the arrestees to the crime.

After a review by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office, charges were recommended for the three adult males arrested:
- Charles Brown Jr., 19, of Detroit resident, was arraigned on charges of carjacking, armed robbery, unlawful driving away of automobile, receiving and concealing stolen property, obstructing a police officer, possessing a stolen financial transaction device (2 counts) and felony firearm.
- Dontrail Taylor, a 17, of Detroit, was arraigned on charges of receiving and concealing stolen property, obstructing a police officer, and felony firearm.
- Kortez Miller, 19, of Detroit, was arraigned on a charge of receiving and concealing stolen property.
The defendants were arraigned by in 19th District Court by Magistrate Doraid Elder, who set bond at $75,000 and required the defendants to be subject to GPS tether monitoring. Their pre-trial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 23 in 19th District Court.
The arrested juvenile has similar charges pending in the Wayne County Juvenile Court.
