Shots Fired, Lockdown Lifted at Dearborn Fairlane Mall

Police said there is no danger to the public at this time.

Dearborn police said a shooting inside Fairlane Mall around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon stemmed from a dispute between two individuals, WDIV-TV reports.

No one was injured.
All evening classes at nearby Henry Ford Community College and the University of Michigan-Dearborn have been canceled.
Students on the campuses are urged to remain inside, lock their doors and silence their phones, WXYZ-TV said.

Dearborn police are reportedly on the scene at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, where shots have been reported.
The mall is reportedly on lockdown, and the alleged shooter is on the loose, WXYZ-TV reports.
Police told WDIV-TV that the shots were fired near the Diamond Jewelers store near the Macy’s anchor. Police said no one was injured.
The nature of the incident is unclear. Social media accounts suggest a robbery with as many as four suspects.
Fairlane Town Center is located at 18900 Michigan Ave., and has more than 120 stores and restaurants.
