Seventeen individuals and families were recognized recently for improving the appearance of their properties in what the Dearborn officials called an “outstanding fashion.”

“Residents recognized by the City Beautiful Commission put forth that extra effort to keep their property attractive, and help make our entire community an appealing place to live,” Mayor John B. O’Reilly Jr.said in a statement. “Thank you for taking pride in your homes and in our city.”

The recipients of 2015 Dearborn City Beautiful Commission award winners are:

• Ronald and Catherine Prowse, 3514 Brewster
• The Hamka family, 21800 Willoway
• Said and Mary Naji, 22207 S. Military
• Eric and Debra Knight, 2453 Chestnut
• Issam Hammoud, 944 N. Gulley
• Thomas and Ilene Norwood, 305 Berkely
• Edward Zawacki and Rose Trupiano, 19050 Outer Drive

Award citations were presented during a ceremony at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. Winners were selected from each of the 17 districts created by City Beautiful Commissioners to guarantee all sections of Dearborn are represented. Additionally, runner-ups in each district will receive a special display decal in the mail.
