Dearborn Evaluating Next Steps Now That Stay Home Order Rescinded

The city said the governor's June 1 decision was not expected.

As of noon on June 2, the City of Dearborn is evaluating what the next steps to take in light of Gov. Whitmer’s decision on June 1 to rescind the state of Michigan’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order.

The City will post updates on www.cityofdearborn.org, on City of Dearborn Government Facebook and other social media, and via the news media.

Essential city services have been provided throughout the pandemic. As more activities are allowed under the Governor’s directive, the city must move forward purposefully, but with caution.

“We are proceeding with care to ensure when we open buildings, and reinstate more city services, we are prioritizing your health,” said Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. “We are here to serve you for the long term, and to do so effectively, we must first give you and our employees the tools and protocols to stay safe for the long term.”
