Dearborn Man Makes Antisemitic Threats Outside Oakland County Synagogue, Preschool: Police
The man was placed in the Oakland County Jail while he waits to be arraigned, officials said.
DEARBORN, MI — A Dearborn man was arrested after making antisemitic and racist threats toward parents, children and school security personnel at a Bloomfield Township preschool and synagogue on Friday, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office said.
Hassan Yehia Chokr, 35, with two counts of ethnic intimidation in connection to the threats that were made outside the Temple Beth El. He was placed in the Oakland County Jail, while he waits to be arraigned.
"Antisemitic and racist threats or ethnic intimidation of any kind, will not be tolerated in our community, and every such incident will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "Our office created Oakland County’s first hate crimes unit a little over a year ago to give us the resources needed to call out, investigate and prosecute these serious crimes."
