Dearborn Trash Delayed, Buildings Closed For Labor Day

Expect your trash to get picked up a day later next week because of the holiday.

From the City of Dearborn: Dearborn’s trash pickup schedule will be delayed by one day for the week of Sept. 4-8 due to the Labor Day holiday. Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 4.

Trash will be picked up Tuesday-Saturday. So, homes with regular Monday trash pickups will be serviced on Tuesday; homes with regular Tuesday trash pickups will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on.

The Dearborn Administrative Center, Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 19th District Court and Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed on Labor Day.

All three branches of the Dearborn Public Library will be closed Sept. 2-4. The libraries will begin fall hours on Tuesday, Sept. 5. In addition to regular weekday and Saturday hours, the Centennial Library will be open Sundays 1 to 5 p.m. for the school year.

The Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed Sept. 2-4, as well as at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 1.

City buildings will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Residents are reminded that Public Service Days are not enforced on weeks in which a holiday disrupts the trash collection scheduled. However, residents are encouraged to keep parked vehicles off the streets whenever possible on their holiday trash day and their usual Public Service Day.
