Dog Nabbed While Woman Shops
"He is irreplaceable," says a woman whose dog was stolen by a thief who ransacked her car. "He's part of my family."

A woman whose car was ransacked during the 20 minutes she shopped in a fresh fruit and vegetable market Saturday told Dearborn Heights police what the culprit got away with wasn’t like “an iPad or any kind of electronic device that can be replaced.”
It was her 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Devyn.
“People love their pets because they are part of the family ...,” Brandi Barton told WXYZ, Channel 7. “He is irreplaceable. He’s part of my family.”

She said she hopes that whoever stole the pooch “has a heart and … will realize this dog belongs with me and I miss him dearly. …”

The dog theft occurred in the parking lot of Joe Randazzo’s Fruit & Vegetable Market on Telegraph and Joy Road about 7 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses reported seeing a 20- to 30-year-old African-American man in the vicinity. He reportedly got into a black Chrysler 300 with all-black custom rings and a dent on the rear passenger side that was driven by another person.
The suspect stood about 5 feet, 8 inches and had a medium build, according to the WXYZ report.
Barton is offering a cash reward for the dog’s safe return. If you have information, call (248) 605-5954. Devyn is gray and tan and was recently groomed. He weighs 10 pounds
