Man Dies After Crashing Stolen Car While Fleeing Wyandotte Cops: PD
Police said the car was taken from Grosse Pointe Park on Christmas.
WYANDOTTE, MI — A man died in a Tuesday crash while fleeing Wyandotte officers in a stolen car, according to police.
A license plate reader camera spotted a 2009 Ford Focus that was taken from Grosse Pointe Park on Christmas in the area of Goddard Road and 12th Street at 2:30 a.m., police said.
Officers tried to stop the car on Fort Street, but the driver sped away from officers and went into Detroit, police said.

The drive inside the Ford then sped through a red light at the intersection of Fort Street and Schafer Highway and crashed into another vehicle, police said.
The Ford driver was extracted from the car and taken to a nearby hospital where he died, police said.

Officials did not identify the suspected car theft, but believe he was in his 30s.
The crash happened on the same day a man was killed in a separate crash while fleeing officers in Warren.
