New Ford Woods Pool In Dearborn Opening Friday
The new pool complex at Ford Woods Park will open at noon on Friday following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new pool complex at Ford Woods Park will open at noon on Friday, June 26, following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the aquatic project designed with family-friendly amenities.
Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The opening of the new Ford Woods Pool is a positive occasion, but will only be possible if health and safety protocols are observed.
Customers will be required to wear masks to enter and exit the pool area, and they will be encouraged to wear masks while walking around when 6 foot distances cannot be maintained between people. The pool will operate at 50 percent capacity.

“We are happy to mark the completion of this wonderful project, which for the long term will add to the opportunities Dearborn families can enjoy together, and make us an even more desirable destination for home buyers,” said Mayor O’Reilly.
“For the short term, I am asking everyone to use this pool with awareness of social distancing and other preventative measures,” said Mayor O’Reilly.
The 25,000-square foot complex includes a zero-depth entry pool, divided into different areas; a dual slide; a deck area with lawns chairs, umbrella tables and chairs; and an extensive indoor area featuring shared lockers, separate shower rooms and rest rooms for men and women; four family locker rooms; vending machines and an outdoor concessions area.
The new pool replaces one that was more than 60 years old. Construction began in 2017. It will operate noon to 8 p.m. each day. Daily rates for the Ford Woods Pool will be Resident: $7, Guest of a Resident: $9, and Nonresident: $14. No annual passes will be available in 2020.
In addition to Ford Woods pool, the pool at Ten Eyck Park opened June 24. Daily rates for the Ten Eyck pool are Resident: $5, Guest of a Resident: $7, and Nonresident: $12.
The three free splash pads at Crowley, Hemlock and Whitmore–Bolles parks opened June 20. They operate 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
