O'Kelley Lounge Now Hiring Line Cook

The line cook for O’Kelley’s is the person primarily responsible for preparing and cooking food items that will delight our customers.  This person may supervise other cooks, utility staff, etc.  The line cook also communicates with the General Manager concerning potential improvements in the kitchen, supply needs, etc.

Skill Requirements:

·  Must possess basic cooking skills

·  Know and follow sanitary food handling procedures

·   Good analytical and problem-solving skills

·  Good planning and organizational skills

·  Effectively communicate with co-workers and management

Job Duties:

· Delight our guests by preparing high quality and timely prepared food

· Prepare and cook food items

· Follow recipe and portion control guidelines

· Handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies and tools

· Organize and prepare for shift

· Process and manage food tickets

· Follow established procedures

· Suggest improvements to procedures for efficiency, effectiveness, and thrift

· Track food quality

· Stock and rotate food

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and cooking OR completion of one year culinary arts education in an accredited program.  GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.

· Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel

·  Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 lbs.

·  Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

· Must be able to follow recipe and plate specifications

· Must maintain personal hygiene according to Federal, State, Local and O’Kelley guidelines

· Must be ServSafe Certified
