Poe-Inspired Dearborn Big Read Compilation Available
The 450-page book book has Poe-inspired stories and poems from 150 authors with Dearborn ties.
DEARBORN, MI — The book, “Dreaming Dreams No Mortal Ever Dared to Dream Before,” is now available.
It all started with a call from Dearborn Public Library and The Big Read partners and sponsors for scary stories and poetry, as part of the community-wide celebration of Edgar Allan Poe and his works.
Who knew they would receive upwards of 240 entries? The result is this collection of Poe inspired stories and poems, in which “you will find dreams (and nightmares), ghost stories, horror, madness, mystery, imagination, and even some humor” (according to the book’s back cover). It is about 450 pages long and has works from over 150 authors with ties to Dearborn.

The Big Read program encourages reading and activities across a community, based on a single book. Dearborn has participated twice in The Big Read, first with “The Call of the Wild,” and then with “The Selected Works of Edgar Allan Poe.”
