Cornhole Tournament Added to Dearborn Homecoming
The popular lawn game was added to the activity lineup for the August festival.
Dearborn, MI – Dearborn Recreation and Parks is teaming up with Michigan Cornhole to bring a “Dearborn Cornhole Tournament” to the city's homecoming festival on Saturday, August 6.
Popular at tailgate events throughout the Midwest, cornhole is an American lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn (or beans) at a raised platform with a hole in the far end.
The tournament will begin at noon on Saturday, August 6 at Ford Field Park, 22051 Cherry Hill., according to a news release. Check-in is at 11 a.m.

Tournament players must be 18 years of age or older. Cost is $25 per person, or $50 for a two-person team.

Players must register by Saturday, July 30. Registration may be completed online or by phone at (313) 943-2354. You may also register in person Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Michael A. Guido Theater Box Office, 15801 Michigan Ave.
Dearborn’s homecoming festival will take place Aug. 5-7 and includes live music, food, family activities, reunions, a carnival, and a fireworks display on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Homecoming will also feature a new 5K and Family Fun Run on Sunday morning (register here) and a free Healthy Dearborn Family Bike Ride on Saturday (info and registration here).
