Retire the Name

Been a while but feel it's time to bark again. Looking at the Free Press this morning and lo and behold there is Mayor O'Reilly at Debbie Dingle's announcement party front and center (well, off to the left a little) looking pleased. I wish he displayed the same vigor about dealing with the problems that continue to plague Dearborn. Have we ever had a mayor that has done so little for the citizens of this city in so long a period of time as O'Reilly? Why is he endorsing Dingell? Her husband and Levin were often cited during their terms in congress as brining home the least amount of dollars back to their home state per tax dollars donated to the federal government by Michigan citizens. John Dingell should have retired years ago. He's an advocate not a legislator and yes there is a huge difference. Now we are going to get another name recognition elected candidate (Sarieni ring a bell? Wonder how many people voted for his mom?) as the uninformed public will see a name and vote for the name not knowing the least about what the person advocates. Maybe now O'Reilly will get his much desired appointment to a judgeship somewhere within the bowels of the court system and leave the city in the hands of somebody that will work to improve the city that I grew up in and
love. The more things change the more they stay the same, bummer.
