Seats for Matinee Performances of "The Three Musketeers" Still Available

HFCC's Theater for Young Audiences Program at Henry Ford Community College is offering junior high, high school, and home school students the opportunity to see their spring production, The Three Musketeers. Founded in 1989, the TYA program has regularly performed classical and contemporary young people's literature in fully produced shows. Previous high school matinees have included Twelfth Night, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Odyssey, and Romeo and Juliet.

Based on the classic swashbuckling adventure novel by French writer Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers is sure to entertain students and teachers alike. The story focuses on the young, ambitious D'Artagnan, staunchly determined to be a hero, and his adventures with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the hardiest, wittiest and most reckless of the King's Musketeers. D'Artagnan soon finds himself embroiled in romantic affairs, intrigue, sinister plots and exhilarating duels, and learns that being a hero is a little more complicated than he thought. Matinee performances are offered on Monday, April 7, Wednesday, April 9, and Friday, April 11 at 10 am. Student ticket prices are $5, while teachers and chaperone seats are FREE. Any size group is welcome. Up to 400 seats are available for a given performance.

Included in the ticket reservation is a complete Study Guide, so that teachers may integrate the show into the curriculum.

For further information, please call Gerry Dzuiblinski, director of the Theater for Young Audiences program, at (313) 845-9817 or email him at gadzuiblinski@hfcc.edu. Tickets can also be purchased on the department's website at www.theatre.hfcc.edu
