Semi Crushes, Drags Sisters’ Car After They Run Red Light: Police
Witnesses said the Ford Focus was driving erratically and the driver may have been on her cellphone. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — Two sisters were killed Thursday morning when their vehicle was dragged about 200 yards after becoming lodged under a semitrailer in a collision at Beech Daly and Van Born roads, according to media reports.
The victims were identified as sisters Heidi Fox, 23, and Samantha Fox, 19, of Dearborn Heights, WDIV-TV said.
According to police, the women were traveling northbound on Beech Daly in a Ford Focus around 9 a.m. when the driver ran a red light and struck a truck traveling westbound through the intersection, Dearborn Heights Police Chief Lee Gavin told The Detroit News.

As the truck continued on, the the Focus was eventually dislodged. Gavin told The Detroit News that police think the truck rolled over the small car, crushed it and pinned the women inside. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The police chief said witnesses reported the car was driving erratically and driver may have been on her cellphone. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor he said.
