Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery of Jewelry Store

Suspect allegedly pointed handgun at victim and demanded large amounts of jewelry and the victim's personal property.

DEARBORN, MI – A Detroit man has been charged in the armed robbery of a Dearborn jewelry store earlier this month, police said.

Dajuan Watson allegedly entered Steven Bernard Jewelers, 22266 Michigan Ave., pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded that the victim fill a bag with large amounts of jewelry on Jan. 16. Personal property belonging to the victim was also taken, police said.

Watson was arrested after an investigation, and the stolen property from the store and the victim were recovered, police said.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office authorized arrest warrants charging Watson with armed robbery, larceny of $20,000 or more, and felony firearm.

He was arraigned on Jan. 23 in 34th District Court. Judge Vesta Swanson set bond at $25,000 cash.
