Following a 2014 performance with the Chicago Philharmonic, Bjaland was critically acclaimed as “…clearly in synch with [the] music and led a commanding and quite thrilling performance. Leif Bjaland is clearly a conductor we need to hear more of locally—in Evanston or downtown Chicago.”

The concert provides an encore to the “day in court” fundraiser, annual “Dinner at the Dearborn Courthouse” featuring a three-course dinner with wine . This prelude to the evening’s concert will also reflect the Hollywood theme. The dinner begins at 6 p.m., in the airy and aesthetically appealing atrium of Dearborn’s 19th District Court at 16077 Michigan Ave.

While you won’t be promised an appearance by A-list Hollywood stars, who do occasionally end up in court, you will be promised an opportunity to mingle with A-list Dearborn Symphony supporters, while contributing to scholarships for young musicians and supporting music-related activities in Dearborn.

Dinner is priced at $85 — just $5 more than an illegal parking ticket in Dearborn on Snow Days — and, because the Dearborn Symphony is a non-profit 501c3 organization, $50 of the $85 price is tax-deductible.

To reserve a spot, send checks payable to Dearborn Symphony to PO Box 2063, Dearborn, MI 48123 or call (313) 565-2424 to pay by credit card.
