Time to Sign up for Safety Town and Lifetown!

Registration is now underway for“Dearborn Safety Town”presented
by the Kiwanis Club of Dearborn Outer Drive and Dearborn High Key
Club. Children ages four and-a-half to six years old are eligible to
participate in this unique and wonderful opportunity. Safety Town
teaches children important rules about staying safe when crossing the
street and dealing with cars and traffic; as well as fire,
electrical, poison, animal safety and “stranger danger”
awareness. The class instructors are State of Michigan certified
teachers. Safety Lessons are taught by our local Police and Fire
Departments, as well as DTE, Dearborn Public Schools and our Fire
Marshal.

Safety Town 2019 is seven days long, 1-1/2 hours per day, over a fun-filled two week period. The first week is four days, June 17-June 20. The second is three days June 24-26. On the final day, June 26th, there is a graduation ceremony with families attending and all of the children receive a a new bike helmet. Parents may choose one of the following class times : 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. The new location for this program is Haigh Elementary School, 601 N. Silvery Lane, Dearborn 48128.It is next to Divine Child. The registration fee is $35 per child. It includes class, a T-shirt, and properly fitted free bike helmet. NEW NEW NEW THIS YEAR is “LIFETOWN," a seven day interactive workshop focusing on learning life skills. It is also $35 per child and designed for 6th, 7th, 8th graders.
