Toddler Dies After Falling In Pool While Parents Slept
The Dearborn Police Department was notified of the girl's death late Saturday morning.

DEARBORN, MI – The 2-year-old girl who wandered away from her sleeping parents and climbed into a next-door swimming pool has died, police said.
The Dearborn Police Department said in a news release Saturday that authorities were notified of the girl's death at 11:15 a.m.
The toddler was unresponsive when the neighbor discovered her in the swimming pool on the 2600 block of Boldt about 10:25 a.m. Friday, police said. Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful and she was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.

Police said preliminary investigation showed the girl and her 3-year-old brother slipped out of their house as their parents slept.

The homeowner looked out and saw the toddler in her pool and immediately pulled her out and began administering CPR, police said.
The 3-year old child was uninjured.
The investigation is active and ongoing, but in the preliminary stages, police have said.
