Trader Joe's Among Businesses Asked For By Patch Readers

Patch readers also want more restaurant choices and places for their kids to play.

DEARBORN, MI — Recently, the Dearborn Patch asked readers what businesses they would like to see come to town. Thus far, we’ve received 61 interesting responses. The theme?

More restaurants. It was the most frequent response, and our readers would like to see a barbeque restaurant, Cracker Barrel, Sonic as well as an Indian restaurant. A few readers also wanted restaurants that focus on healthy cuisine beyond Mediterranean-style eateries.

But restaurants weren’t the only businesses on the wish list. Grocery stores were the next highest response with 14. Off those, readers most often named Trader Joe’s as their preferred choice.

Another popular choice not seen in other Patch communities? Readers want a cool indoor playscape to take their kids. A few people mentioned Jungle Java, a Canton Township business that features indoor playscapes and kid-friendly snacks like breakfast bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and macaroni and cheese.
