Victim to Serial Rape Suspect: ‘I Can’t Go Through This Again’
Suspect allegedly left without raping woman, saying she was protected by the 'veil' of God and Satan had forced him to attack women.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — Alleged serial rapist Ikeie Ranordo Smith made another appearance in court Wednesday, this time before Judge David Turfe in Dearborn Heights 20th District Court for a hearing on charges that he broke into a woman’s home around 4 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2013, and forced her to touch his genitalia.
Smith, 32, of Redford Township faces multiple sexual assault and home invasion charges in multiple Metro Detroit jurisdiction, and could eventually be tied to about three dozen cases in at least eight Metro Detroit communities. So far, he has been charged in a pair of cases in Dearborn Heights, including the one before the court Wednesday, as well as in Garden City, Redford Township, Allen Park and Dearborn. In all but the Dearborn cases, both criminal sexual conduct and home invasion charges were filed.
FBI behavior analysts have described Smith as “a power reassurance rapist,” that is an individual who experiences feelings of self-doubt inadequacy with women, but generally does not harm them beyond the sexual assault.

In the hearing Wednesday, the victim, a woman and her 30s, said that she pleaded with her assailant not to rape her, telling him that she had been raped before and “I can’t go through this again,” The Detroit News reported.
The woman said she prayed that the suspect would not assault her further, and that she told him he could make better choices by not assaulting her. He told her she was protected by the “veil “ of God and left without raping her. He said he “believed the devil and Satan had entered him, causing him to do these things.”
