Weigh In On Dearborn Budget Talks Now

Several budget workshop meetings will be held this month and during April as city leaders develop fiscal year 2016 spending plan.

If you want to add your say about how Dearborn city officials use your tax dollars, several public budget workshops are coming up, beginning Thursday.

The fiscal year 2016 budget workshops will be facilitated by Mayor John B. O’Reilly Jr., his administration and the Dearborn City Council.

Public hearing and budget adoption meetings, which have not yet been scheduled, will follow the workshops.

All budget workshops will be at 6 p.m. in Council Conference Room 1B of the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave. Enter through the West Entrance.

The following is a tentative schedule, subject to change by the City Council:

  • Thursday, March 19
  • Monday, March 23
  • Wednesday, April 1
  • Thursday, April 2
  • Monday, April 13
  • Tuesday, April 14
  • Monday, April 20
  • Thursday, April 23
  • Monday, April 27

The schedule will be updated with topics and any date changes at www.cityofdearborn.org in the Transparency section. All documents for the 2016 budget discussion will also be posted there as they become available.

The 2016 budget year begins July 1.
