Woman Attacked At Beaumont Dearborn, Sues Hospital
A young woman was attacked from behind by another patient as she checked into a Dearborn hospital earlier this year, according local media.

DEARBORN, MI — A teen was attacked inside the lobby at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn in February, according to a media report, and is now suing the hospital. The attack was possibly religiously motivated; the young Muslim woman who wears a headscarf was attacked from behind as she was reportedly checking into the emergency room. Her attacker had reportedly just checked out of the hospital that day and had been wandering the halls.
WDIV obtained footage from Beaumont’s security camera which shows the attack. The woman has now hired a lawyer. Beaumont released this statement to Patch Monday:
"On Feb. 10, a patient in the Beaumont, Dearborn Emergency Center became physically aggressive with another patient in the waiting room. Beaumont security personnel responded immediately and took action to protect the patient and others in the emergency room. Dearborn Police were contacted and Beaumont staff cooperated fully in the investigation. We take pride in our service to this diverse community and want all patients to feel welcome and safe at Beaumont."
