Detroit Zoo Greenfest
Greenfest activities will be scattered throughout the Zoo where guest can learn simple actions can support a healthier environment for people, animals and nature.

Belle Isle Nature Center Greenfest
A free, family-friendly event that explores how simple actions can support a healthier environment for people, animals and nature.
April 11-12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Oakland County Earth Day 2026
Southeast Michigan's largest Earth Day event, which includes a climate march through downtown Royal Oak and an Earth fair featuring dozens of vendors.
April 18, Royal Oak Farmers Market, 4 to 7 p.m.
Earth Day Cleanup: Stony Creek
Check in at the Park Office to pick up your tools (trash bags and gloves), and directions/map to your assigned cleanup area. Registered volunteers will also get into the park for free that day.
April 18, Stony Creek Metropark, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Huron-Clinton Metroparks Cleanup
The Metroparks are also hosting a set of programs on Earth Day geared to teach visitors about the history of the holiday and how they can make an impact themselves. Registration is also required for these programs.
The full Earth Day program line-up on April 22:
- Earth Day Cleanup: Stony Creek Metropark (all ages) – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Earth Day Camp: Indian Springs Metropark (ages 7 and up) – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Earth Day Cleanup: Lake St. Clair Metropark (ages 6 and up) – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Earth Day Cleanup: Lake Erie Metropark (all ages) – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Earth Day History Hike: Lake Erie Metropark (all ages) – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Earth Day Heroes of Conservation: Lake Erie Metropark (ages 8 and up) – 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
