74K Still Without Power In Detroit Area After Severe Storms
DTE Energy said it hopes to restore a majority of customers who lost power during Tuesday's storms by Thursday night.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — DTE Energy said it hopes to restore a majority of customers who lost power during Tuesday's storms by Thursday night.
More than 74,000 DTE Energy customers in the Detroit area were still without power Thursday morning, according to the utility.
Linemen have restored power to nearly 170,000 customers in the area since the storms, according to the utility.

Forecasters said Tuesday's storms hit the southeastern Michigan area with winds reaching up to 76 miles per hour. More thunderstorms hit parts of the region Wednesday afternoon.
Another round of severe weather with damaging winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour is possible across the southeastern Michigan region Friday.

The utility reminded residents to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed power line and completely away from any caution tape. They also said do not touch any object a downed power line is touching and always keep a generator outdoors away from doors and windows.
