Man shot inside his parked vehicle on Detroit's west side (fox2detroit.com) β A 40-year-old man was shot inside his parked vehicle on Asbury Park near Eight Mile on Detroit's west side Monday and is now in stable condition. ShotSpotter alerted officers, but police have not released suspect details and are asking anyone with information to contact Detroit police or Crime Stoppers.

TGI Friday shooting: Suspect released pending warrant approval from prosecutor's office (fox2detroit.com) β A Detroit man was among two bystanders wounded when gunfire broke out between two licensed gun owners in a Southfield TGI Fridays parking lot, killing an Inkster woman. The event was part of a Detroit police commissioner's biker bash, and investigators are still weighing charges while asking anyone with information to contact Southfield police or Crime Stoppers.

State Bar Presidential Inauguration & Awards Luncheon planned for Sept. 18 (legalnews.com) β Michigan attorneys and legal professionals are invited to the State Bar of Michigan's Presidential Inauguration & Awards Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 18 at the Detroit Marriott Troy. The event will install new bar leadership and honor judges, lawyers, and organizations from across the state, followed by additional awards from the Representative Assembly at the same Detroit-area venue.
