Residents say Joy Road streetlights have been out for months, Public Lighting Authority promises repairs (clickondetroit.com) โ Residents along Joy Road between Livernois and I-96 in Detroit have endured nearly three months of dark streets after summer storms knocked out Public Lighting Authority streetlights. After neighbors raised safety concerns about walking, catching buses, and nearby vacant homes, the authority now says repairs should restore lights within 48 to 72 hours and urges residents to report other outages online.

GRCC English and Science Students Attended the Detroit River Story Lab (thecollegiatelive.com) โ Detroit students and Grand Rapids Community College participants spent a day on the tall ship Alliance studying the Detroit River's history, ecology, and role in Black and Indigenous communities.
