Beloved Detroit Neurosurgeon's Death Ruled Homicide: Medical Examiner
Officials ruled the doctor's death a homicide after determining he was shot multiple times in the head, Wayne County officials said.

DETROIT — The death of a popular Detroit neurosurgeon was ruled a homicide after officials determined he was shot multiple times in the head, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.
Officers were conducting a welfare check Sunday when they found 53-year-old Devon Hoover's body wrapped in a sheet in the attic of his home on W. Boston Boulevard near Woodward Avenue in the city's Boston Edison Historic District, police said.
Nearly 2,000 people have joined a Facebook group titled "Justice for Dr. Devon Hoover," where mostly former patients credited the doctor for successful back and neck surgeries.

Hoover was a certified neurosurgeon Ascension St. John with a special interest in neck and back disorders.
Police haven't released much information on the shooting and were still investigating.
