Detroit Community Remembers Well-Respected Doctor Who Was Killed
Detroit Police have not made any arrests in connection to the shooting and did not reveal a possible motive.

DETROIT — The Detroit community is mourning the death of a well-respected doctor, who was found shot dead Sunday inside his home in the city's Boston Edison Historic District.
Friends, family and former patients of Dr. Devon Hoover have been offering their condolences on social media to the beloved 53-year-old medical professional, who worked at Ascension St. John.
A Facebook group, Justice for Dr. Devon Hoover, was created online, where one former patient described Hoover as a "very compassionate man."

Many people posted in the group about successful back and neck surgeries Hoover performed on them. Hoover specialized in neck and back disorders.
"Dr.Hoover was an incredibly kind and talented neurosurgeon," one post read. "He was a gentle soul, explaining the procedures I had to undergo with patience and always made sure I was comfortable. He helped me through 3 back surgeries and 2 neck surgeries over the last 20 years and I am finally pain free because of him."

Officers found Hoover dead wrapped in a sheet in the attic of his home with a single gunshot wound, according to Fox 2 Detroit. Police also told the outlet his car was found dumped in a separate location.
Police have not identified a shooter or motive, and did not release any other information.
Police were still investigating the shooting.
