Detroit People Mover Shuts Down After Crews Find Track Damage

The Detroit People Mover​ in downtown was closed Thursday morning after officials said found track damage, according to a spokesperson.

DETROIT — The Detroit People Mover in downtown was closed Thursday morning after officials said found track damage, according to a spokesperson.

Crews found a small section of the track damaged while they were conducting the morning system check, officials said.

Crews were investigating to determine the extent of the damage and will quickly make repairs as soon as possible, officials said.

However, officials said the People Mover will not reopen until it is determined the system is completely safe.
