Detroit Pistons Legend Isiah Thomas Pops the Cork at The Palace

The Pistons' all-time leader in points, assists, steals and games played will share memories at halftime in Wednesday's game.

The Detroit Pistons are playing their final season at The Palace of Auburn Hills, and Pistons legend Isiah Thomas is bringing the champagne when he visits Wednesday. Cheurlin Thomas Champagne, the newest product offered by Thomas’ ISIAH Imports.

The champagne will be offered through the rest of the season at arena concessions. The collection includes four champagnes: Brut Spéciale and Rosé de Saignée, both offered under the Cheurlin label, and Célébrité (Blanc de Blanc) and Le Champion (Blanc de Noir), offered under the Cheurlin Thomas Black label.

Thomas unveiled his champagnes to the public at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this past July.

Thomas, a 12-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-Star MVP, was drafted as the second overall pick by the Pistons in 1981 and went on to become the franchise’s all-time leader in points, assists, steals and games played. The Hall of Famer delivered two NBA championships as part of the “Bad Boys,” as the Pistons became known for a physical, defense-oriented style of play.

Thomas played his entire 13-year NBA career in the Motor City, and many of his most memorable achievements took place on The Palace floor.

Thomas said in a news release that he is “really happy to be home in Detroit — back at The Palace — to celebrate with our Pistons family this remarkable moment in the history of the franchise.”

The Pistons will return to downtown Detroit next season when Little Caesars Arena opens.

“This is an honor and a great privilege to present Cheurlin Champagne to the Motor City,” he said. “I am truly grateful for the continued love and support of my Pistons family, our fans, and of course, to be back on the Bad Boys court.”

The Pistons take on longtime rival the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the club’s “best of seven” series Wednesday. Thomas will share some of his favorite Palace memories during a halftime ceremony, and the first 10,000 fans at the door will receive a commemorative Isiah Thomas mini jersey.

The 12-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-Star MVP will be in attendance on Wednesday, February 8th, when the team hosts the long-time rival Los Angeles Lakers as part of the club’s “Best of Seven” series. He will share his favorite Palace memories during a special halftime ceremony and the first 10,000 fans will receive a commemorative Isiah Thomas mini jersey.
