Detroit Police Seek Public Help With Arson Investigations
Police said both incidents were captured on camera and showed the suspects using a Molotov cocktail, police said.
DETROIT — Detroit Police asked the public for help Tuesday with two separate arson investigations.
The first incident happened on Dec. 29 around 7:00 a.m. at 16900 Woodbine St., when a ring doorbell camera video captured a suspect attempting to burn down the home that had two people inside, police said.
The suspect lit a Molotov cocktail and tried throwing it into the home, police said. The video also showed a silver or white transit work van driving north on Woodbine Street, parking just north of the victim’s home.

The second incident happened on Dec. 18 around 5:30 p.m. on the 5200 block of Lodewyck, when a video showed two men breaking a car window and throwing a Molotov cocktail into the vehicle, which started a fire, police said.
