Detroit Woman Robbed Bank For Crab Legs, Barbecue: Police

A Detroit woman warned a teller "things will get bloody" if she didn't get $10,000 in Livonia bank heist, police said.

A Detroit woman bought crab legs and threw a weekend barbecue with money from a bank heist last weekend, police said. The woman, Chloe Adams, 25, is accused of handing a note warning “things would get bloody” if a teller at Livonia’s Citizens Bank, 28999 Five Mile Road, didn’t give her $10,000.

The teller gave Adams half that much, police said in a news release. No one was injured in the robbery.

Besides the crab legs and barbecue, she also used the money to a pay a car loan, took a trip to Chicago and bought Air Jordan athletic shoes, according to the release. Adams was arrested at her home in Detroit without incident Tuesday. Police executed a search warrant Wednesday and uncovered evidence linking her to the crime, police said.

Adams was arraigned Thursday in 16th District Court and charged with one count of bank robbery, punishable by up to life in prison. Her bond was st at $1 million cash/surety.

She is due back in court on June 8 for a probable cause conference. Her preliminary examination is set for June 15.
