Watch Live Stream: Donald Trump Thank-You Tour in Grand Rapids, Michigan
President-elect Donald Trump is the first president-elect known to conduct a victory tour.
President-elect Donald Trump plans to bring his victory tour to Grand Rapids Friday, his transition team announced Monday in a conference call with reporters. The event will be held at 7 p.m. at the DeltaPlex Arena, 2500 Turner Ave NW.
Michigan was among the battleground states that swung the election to Trump, who despite having lost the popular vote by about 2.5 million votes prevailed in the electoral vote. Trump won Michigan’s 16 electoral votes with a cushion of about 10,700 votes over Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton.
Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, ended their campaign with a huge rally in the early morning hours of Election Day at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. It was his eighth visit to Michigan during the campaign season.

The rally comes on the heels of a contentious battle over the re-counting of 4.8 million ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election. A federal judge ruled the count should go forward after Green Party candidate requested it to ensure all votes were counted, but on Wednesday reversed himself and ruled the recount should end.
Trump is the first president-elect in history known to do a nationwide victory tour, which began in Cincinnati last week. Rallies are also planned Tuesday in North Carolina and Thursday in Iowa.
