Fifth Person Arrested In Shooting Of 11-Year-Old Detroit Girl: Police
Investigators believe that the shooting was connected to an auto theft ring in the area, according to police.
DETROIT — A fifth person was arrested Thursday in connection with a shooting of an 11-year-old Detroit girl, according to police.
The 11-year-old girl was sleeping on a coach at 4 a.m. in the front of a home in the 6000 block of Pennsylvania, near Interstate 94 and Gratiot Avenue, where multiple shooters fired roughly 23 rounds into the house, according to police.
The girl was shot at least once in the head and taken to Children's Hospital of Michigan, where she was listed in critical condition, according to police.

Investigators believe there were between 15 and 20 people inside the home where the shooters opened fire. They also believe that the shooting was connected to an auto theft ring in the area.
Four people have already been arrested in connection with the shooting. Police also recovered a gun that they believe was used in the shooting.

Surveillance video showed two men getting out of a white or silver SUV that pulled up to the home and firing multiple shots into the house, according to police.
Investigators said a similar incident happened at the same house in December.
