Grace Ice & Water Shield® Roofing Underlayment Protects This Old House Project in Detroit, Michigan

GCP Applied Technologies (NYSE:GCP), formerly Grace Construction Products, is pleased to announce that its flagship product, Grace Ice & Water Shield® self-adhered roofing underlayment, was used in the renovation of the This Old House® Detroit project, premiering nationally on Thursday, March 30th (check local listings).
The new This Old House® episodes feature the revitalization and renovation of an abandoned home in Detroit, Michigan. Grace Ice & Water Shield®, the original self-adhered roofing underlayment, was used on the roof of the Detroit home to protect it from extreme weather such as wind-driven rain and ice dams. The underlayment seals around the fasteners used to attach the shingles, which helps prevent water build up from leaking into the house. Grace Ice & Water Shield® also sticks to the roof deck so that water may not travel under the underlayment and enter the house via a vulnerable roof deck joint. The episode that includes Grace Ice & Water Shield® is titled “Ready for Rehab,” number 1518/3618 and airs on PBS beginning April 6, 2017 (check local listings).
“This was a unique project for This Old House and we are so pleased to work with their crew once again,” said Larry Shapiro, Business Directory for GCP’s Residential Building Materials business. “This Old House gave new life to a formerly abandoned home in the city of Detroit. We are proud to have a hand in the project by having our Grace Ice & Water Shield® membranes protect the home from Mother Nature’s extremes.”
