Grand Hotel Announces Sponsorship of Lighthouses on The Mag Mile

Public art display takes place from June 19 - August 11

Grand Hotel will serve as a sponsor this summer for Lighthouses on The Mag Mile, a world class public art display celebrating access and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Lighthouses on the Mag Mile is being conducted by The Chicago Lighthouse in partnership with Huber Financial Advisors, LLC; and many other visionary businesses and individuals, including The Magnificent Mile® Association.

“We’re honored to support this initiative along Chicago’s renowned Magnificent Mile this summer,” said Dan Musser III, President and owner of Grand Hotel. “The Chicago Lighthouse organization does amazing work for the visually impaired and disabled communities and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to support their work through sponsoring a beautiful lighthouse. My wife, Marlee Brown, chose Freidman Place, a non-profit Supportive Living Program to design Grand Hotel’s lighthouse and we can’t wait for it to be on display for the public.”

Highlighting this free exhibition, which takes place from June 19 through August 11, will be more than 50 six-foot tall lighthouse sculptures along famed North Michigan Avenue. Many of the sculptures, which will catch the public’s eye and capture their hearts, will be designed by people with disabilities. Millions of visitors will see these beautifully designed art displays and ask themselves: How can I be part of access and inclusion for people with disabilities?

These inspired artists along with more than 40 sponsoring business leaders have risen to the challenge put forward by Chicago Lighthouse CEO, Dr. Janet Szlyk: “We all have a powerful role to play to make inclusion possible for people with disabilities. The challenge is to find your own sphere of influence and use it!”
